Conan O'Brien

Conan O'Brien will leave NYC for LA to take over Jay Leno's Tonight Show next week. (Let's hope he improves on it.) Conan took over David Letterman's Late Night show 16 years ago. For the first several years the great Andy Richter was his sidekick.

Conan's last show was on Friday night (2/20/09). Andy Richter was the special guest; show favorites Will Farrell, and Abe Vigoda made appearances, as well as John Mayer. The White Stripes were the special musical guests.

At the end of the show Conan spends some time praising his band, announcer, writers, Lorne Michaels, David Letterman, Jay Leno, New York City, his family, etc -- Conan comes very close to crying. It's rather touching and here's the link -- you should know it's over 10 minutes, but I find it worthwhile:
